Friday

The Regional Urban Design Assistance Team will hold a town hall meeting 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Boerne Middle School North auditorium. Everyone is invited to share ideas for the future Boerne. Visit www.rudatboerne.com for details.

Grey Forest Farmer’s Market will be held Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Scenic Loop Playground Club, 18249 Sherwood Trail, Grey Forest. Some of the items you will find include: fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, jams and jellies, pecans, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, honey, natural scrubs, Texas grown plants, lavender-related items, cards and ecology-friendly market bags.

Boerne Parks and Recreation will host the annual Child/Adult Team Fishing Tournament on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Kendall County’s newest park, Joshua Springs Park and Preserve. Each team must have one child (younger than 18) and one adult (18 or older). Registration is free and forms can be found at www.ci.boerne.tx.us/parks. Saturday

Brandon’s Revue is set Saturday evening at Cibolo Nature Center. Named in honor of Brandon Gallagher-Manning, Brandon’s Revue benefits the Cibolo Nature Center’s Endowment for the Songs and Stories Concert Series. Spend an evening enjoying music in the great outdoors. Bring your lawn chairs and cold beverages. Dine on authentic Texas barbecue for $5 per plate. Entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. with Drinkwater Floyd. Headliner Lil’ Bit kicks off at 8 p.m. with soulful renditions of honky tonk and foot-tapping favorites. June 14

Cibolo Nature Center Kid’s Club features “All About Rocks” 10 to 11:30 a.m. on June 14. Come to the Visitor Center for “What in the World is a Rock Hound”?

Bring your own rock to show and tell. Presenter Marjorie Dishron will bring her rock collection, and talk about characteristics, colors and personalities of rocks. After the lesson, participants will head out on the trails to explore. Bring sunscreen and water bottle.

Cibolo Nature Center is hosting a Sustainable Living Event on June 14 at the center as part of its 20th anniversary observance.

A “Green Car Lot” will kick off the event from 10 a.m. to noon. Vehicles that boast the best fuel efficiency in their class will be on-site and area car dealerships will have representatives available to field questions and provide information about the cars.

The “Green Parking Lot” is free and open to the public and no registration is necessary.

In the afternoon, a Sustainable Living Seminar will be held from 1 p.m. from 5 p.m. Cost of the seminar is: Members $15 per person and $25 per couple; non-members $20 per person. Participants are asked to register in advance by calling the Cibolo Nature Center at (830) 249-4616.

June 17

Boerne Village Band, the oldest German-American Band in the world, offers Abendkonzerts (evening concerts) in the summer months. The remaining 2008 performance dates are: June 17, July 15 and July 29.
