A San Antonio man was arrested Friday and charged with intoxication manslaughter in the first boating related death this year on Canyon Lake.

According to Comal County Game Warden Michael McColl, Oscar Miguel Villasenor, 23, allegedly drove over roommate Rene Jimenez after Jimenez had fallen from an inner-tube attached to the boat.

The incident took place in the Cranesmill area on Canyon Lake.

“It’s still under investigation,” McColl said. “And we’re still waiting on evidence, including the toxicology reports.”

Jimenez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Intoxication manslaughter is a second-degree felony.

Villasenor was released from Comal County Jail on $60,000 bond over the weekend.
