Editor:

It appears that not even the U.S. Army can stop the onslaught of Houston-based developers who are choking the life out of our town.  At stake: our national security, quality of life, wildlife, drinking water, and long-range economy.

Our leaders and lawmakers can’t seem to make a dent in the problem. We’ve seen it all before. The developers will use their wealth and high-dollar lawyers to slowly and cleverly force this self-serving and destructive development down our throats. They’ll promise this and promise that, head to Houston, and we will be left holding the bag.

We the people need to send a message to our leaders and lawmakers that we are not sheep.  We want leaders who can lead and laws that have the teeth to defend our community and way of life.
