Trailer theft

June 25, 3:15 p.m., 5900 block of Broadway: A business owner reported that a trailer he had chained up behind his business had been stolen. He said he found the lock, which had been tampered with. The man stated there had been suspicious activity going on behind his business during the past few months and that the trailer had been stolen before.

Argument results in jail time

June 26, 4:56 p.m., 200 block of Halcyon: After being called for a fight in progress, officers found a couple screaming at each other and when police tried to separate them, the man became very aggressive and verbally abusive towards one of the officers. Photos of the woman’s injuries were taken and entered into evidence. The man was arrested for assault-family violence and unlawful restraint.

Traffic stop ends with coke and no smiles

June 27, 3:20 a.m., 300 block of Alamo Heights Boulevard: After observing a vehicle go through two stop signs, an officer initiated a traffic stop. After checking the driver’s ID and insurance, the officer asked the same of the passenger, who said she didn’t have any ID. When asked her age and birth date, the two didn’t match up, and the girl became very nervous. After checking again, the girl gave different information and it was found she was a runaway, and was taken into custody. The girl was taken out of the car and told to empty her pockets, and pulled out a baggie with white powder in it, and admitted it was cocaine. After a female officer was called in to search the girl, more cocaine was found in her possession. The driver was issued a citation for the stop sign and released. The girl was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and then transported to the juvenile center in San Antonio.

Weed at the high school

June 27, 9:54 a.m., 6900 block of Broadway: The assistant principal at Alamo Heights High School called in a student in possession of marijuana. After becoming suspicious about the student’s behavior, the school official had found a plastic bag of what appeared to be pot, a musical mouth piece used for smoking pot, and cigarette rolling papers in the student’s backpack. The student was arrested, handcuffed and searched, then taken to the police department for processing. The bag did indeed contain marijuana, which weighed in at over an ounce. The student was taken to the San Antonio juvenile detention center for possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone.

Bike theft

July 4, 1:31 p.m., 1200 block of Townsend: A homeowner reported that an unsecured bicycle was stolen from his front porch.

Counterfeit $100 bill passed at convenience store

July 1, 2:10 p.m., 2100 block of Harry Wurzbach: The owner of a convenience store called police about a $100 bill he found amongst his daily receipts that one of his clerks had collected the previous night. The police officer confirmed the bill was fake. After checking surveillance video, the police were able to see the transaction.

Thief rummages through house, takes nothing

July 3, 5:47 p.m., 800 block of Elizabeth: A homeowner reported the back door of her house had been broken into. Drawers in several bedrooms had been pulled out and rummaged through, but nothing was reported as missing.

Thief pockets sunglasses

July 3, 10:14 p.m., 2300 block of Harry Wurzbach: A clerk at a gas station said an unknown male came into the store, removed two pairs of sunglasses from a rack and put them in his pocket. When confronted, the thief ran from the store.

Vandals tear up ground

July 8, 7:01 p.m., 10 block of Lazy lane: Police received a report that two men were in a car driving around in circles on a lot of land, causing severe damage to the flat ground. The owner of the lot was able to get the license plate of the offending vehicle.
