Dana Jacobson and Friends will perform from 7-9 p.m. at Windcrest United Methodist Church’s monthly coffee house/Christian music showcase. A.O.K. Amateur Karate Tournament will be held 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Live Oak Civic Center, 8101 Pat Booker Road. Competition is in various age categories. Refreshments will be available. Admission: $8.

The Animal Defense League invites the public to bring their dogs and cats to a low-cost vaccination, micro-chipping, dog-washing and nail-clipping clinic, from 7 a.m.-noon at ADL, 11300 Nacogdoches Road in San Antonio. An all-you-can -eat-breakfast is being held from 8-11 a.m. by MOC Pup Tent 55 at 202 W. Aviation Blvd. in Universal City. The Lions Futbol Club is holding registration for its soccer academy — reserved for 7, 8 and 9-year-olds — from 1-3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, exit 173 on Interstate 35 in Selma.

Maranatha Bible Church is offering a “Math Camp” Aug. 9 and 16, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., for students in grades 3-10. Games, lunch, prizes to be awarded. Each grade level will focus on the math objectives that gave students most difficulty on the Math TAKS test last year.
