Aug. 4

National Night Out for Texas has been changed to Oct. 7. However, neighborhoods must register before Aug. 5 to be counted as participants in this year’s event. Traditionally, NNO has been held the first Tuesday in August, but organizers sought a date change in the hope that cooler weather would encourage more participation.

The local NNO 2008 Web site is up and running and neighborhoods may obtain registration information online at www.sanantonio.gov/sapd.

Organizations obtaining banners must have registered with the city of San Antonio National Night Out, and the individual signing for the banners must also be able to produce a valid photo identification card at the time of pick-up. Organizations must register using the National Night Out 2008 registration form and submit them before Aug. 5. This is how the number of participants will be counted for competition purposes. Even if you have already registered with the NNO Web site, participants must register with the local site to be counted.
