By Michelle Mondo Contributing Writer A man was killed July 31 in a one-vehicle crash when he hit a concrete median and drove into a tree-filled area. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 West near the Boerne Stage Road exit. San Antonio Police Detective Tonja Brandt said she could not confirm that the man was impaled by a limb but said it appeared the tree limbs caused trauma to the body. Police said there did not appear to be an obvious cause of the crash. Brandt said witnesses told police the man made no effort to stop his pickup as it veered into the inside median and then crossed the lanes and into the trees. The driver, who was the only occupant in the truck, died at the scene. A Bexar County Sheriff’s Office report listed him as Richard Parr, 58, of Boerne. This story appeared on mysa.com on Aug. 1.
