By Jonathan Nolte Staff Writer The Boerne Business Alliance is ramping up efforts to formulate the 2008 Dickens on Main holiday event. Marcia Hendler of Marketing + says the event is seeking vendors and performers. The event has room to host fundraising tables for nonprofit organizations. Hendler says the event also needs general sponsors and food vendors. Hendler emphasizes that this year’s event will focus on the Dickens theme, not a cowboy theme as featured in previous events. Joanne Hatcher of Angels and Ivy said that several stage performers and musicians have already volunteered for the event, but more performers are needed. The BBA has set up a Web site for the event, www.BoerneDickensOnMain.com, which features information for visitors, performers and sponsors. Exclusive to this year’s event is the Dickens Club. Members who join this club have access to prime viewing area for the parade and shopping package check. Dickens on Main will begin on the weekend of Thanksgiving and continue on the Fridays and Saturdays of the following consecutive weekends. The Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Vendors and performers interested in volunteering should call Joanne Hatcher at (830) 249-2766 or contact the BBA through the Web site’s “Contact Us” link.
