The newly-formed Hill Country Pan American Chamber of Commerce has been organized to promote the interests of Hispanic business owners in the Hill Country.

Chamber Chairman Josue Martinez said the organization currently has 15 members in northern San Antonio, Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne. Efforts are being made to increase membership. The organization meets at a luncheon on the second Wednesday of every month at a specified location.

According to chamber officials, the group’s key goals are access to the marketplace, education and health. The leaders of the HCPACC intend to develop educational programs, foster new business opportunities, provide technical assistance to new businesses and build relationships with private and public sectors.

Chamber member Lucy Calderon has been involved since its inception. She said some of the first meetings were held at her Boerne restaurant, Gago’s.

Interested parties can call chamber president Paul Trevino at (210) 379-9616.
