It may take Boerne High School alumni awhile to become acclimated to new school colors and a new logo when they attend homecoming Friday night, but they should quickly warm up to the Champion Chargers, who are 2-0 heading into the contest with Del Rio (1-1).

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by the introduction of the homecoming court.

The Chargers should be well prepared for the Del Rio Rams after defeating run-oriented East Central last week.

The Rams also like to keep the ball on the ground with senior running back Victor Garcia and junior Lamik McKinnon. Garcia led the Rams in rushing last season and McKinnon paced Del Rio with 241 yards in last week’s one-point loss to Jay. Del Rio opened the season with a win over Lake View.

Boerne will have a bye week after playing Del Rio before opening district play at Kerrville Sept. 26.
