Bulverde Senior Center is interviewing for an exercise instructor/coordinator.  Requirements for this position are certification as a group fitness instructor through a professional organization and current CPR certification.  An added bonus for the position would be certification to work with seniors.

If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this employment opportunity, contact Glenna Croft at (830) 438-3111. Our regularly scheduled exercise classes are continuing as scheduled. Exercise is an important part of everyone’s health and a priority of the Bulverde Senior Center.

We were pleased to hear that BSC’s donations of school supplies were very appreciated in the drive organized by ReMax Realtors. As recognition to BSC, ReMax donated the sides and desserts for our regular Monday luncheon this week and the center donated the meat.

It was a nice celebration appreciated by all. Kimberly Dean, Senior Outreach Coor-dinator at BSC, spoke after the luncheon, bringing members up to date on the services being offered at the center.

Speaking of donations, the Bulverde Food Pantry is in need of canned fruit, paper towels, toilet tissue, canned meat and diapers (sizes 2, 3 and 4). You may drop your donations off at the center.

Are you a person who enjoys playing games? Then plan on visiting Bulverde Senior Center and joining the many activities there. Our very active program includes lively and well-attended games of Bingo, bridge, Bunco, joker/cards and marbles, Mah Jongg, dominoes and Pinochle as well as other games.

Come join our group on Games Day (on Mondays beginning at 10 a.m.) or pick up our monthly calendar to see when your particular favorite is scheduled. Or do you have a favorite that isn’t listed? We welcome your suggestions.

Don’t forget the following programs: Bulverde Senior Center members have been invited to a luncheon next Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Independence Hill Retire-ment Resort Community.

The AARP defensive driving course will be offered at the center on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Flu shots will be offered at the Comal County Health Office (just down the street from the Senior Center) on Friday, Nov. 7 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
