It is a busy time in the Metrocom. This week alone we have the Taste of the Metrocom, Night in Old Converse, Chief Page’s, 12 FTW Command Chief, retirement and the Valero MS 150. Thanks to all that have helped with the Taste, we could not have done it without you! Our charity for the end of the year is Multiple Sclerosis. I will do all the riding and you all can help by sponsoring my riding. Valero has been a great chamber supporter and this is one way that we can show our support for them. Recently awarded the Air Force Times Airman of the Year, Chief Page is going to be missed. On top of all his duties on base he meets every Air Force war wounded that comes to San Antonio — even if they arrive at 3 a.m. — and makes sure they know the resources they have and finds them the support they need. Luckily, Chief Page is not leaving the area. I hope to see you all at the 35th annual Night in Old Converse. Our area is blessed with many great celebrations, and this is one of them. Great food and music make this a wonderful place to spend some time with the family. Those that read this today before 5:30 p.m., don’t miss the mixer at Bellacino’s. They have promised great pizza and, as always, their desserts are to die for! I hope to see you all there! The Monthly Luncheon for October will deal with everyday health issues presented by some of our chamber members. Secrets to back health, dealing with stress, weight management and more!
