The Smithson Valley varsity boys and girls cross country teams finished in second place at the Floresville meet Satur-day.

Shelby Polasek finished first in the two-mile race with a time of 12:25. Teammates Whitney Repole and Amy Anderson finished sixth and eighth respectively.

The varsity Boys were led by Austin Boehnlein who finished fifth with a time of 15:53 in the three-mile course. Teammates James Polasek and Louis Borrego finished seventh and 10th.   

The Ranger junior varsity girls took home the first place medal and were led by freshman Liz Shroeder who finished second with a time of 13:56. Teammates Alyssa Olivas and Andrea Ramirez finished fourth and fifth respectively. 

The junior varsity boys were third place finishers and were led by Cooper Erhardt who finished eighth overall with a time of 17:34. 

The Rangers’ next meet is at Starcke Park in Seguin on Oct. 18.
