In a surprising turn-about, the Friends of the Boerne Public Library have gone on a quest for books, as well any as gently used CDs, tapes, DVDs, records and magazines you may be thinking of tossing, to be recycled in their annual gigantic book sale.

This year, the much-anticipated event will be held March 2, 3 and 4, at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, Hwy. 46 East. On Friday, doors open at noon and the sale continues until 5 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund special library projects.

Prior to the sale, bibliophiles can drop off second-hand items from their home libraries during regular business hours at the BPL, 210 N. Main St.

The library is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Sundays.

In addition, library representatives will pick up sizable donations to the book sale from donors’ homes. To schedule an appointment, call (830) 249-3053.
